Countdown

All Set To Go!

Tomorrow is the big day. Our bags are packed, and our documents are in order. The only tasks we have left are to get to the airport and check in. After that, we're in the hands of our tour guide. We're really interested in seeing a culture so different from our own. We've seen some beautiful photos of our destinations during the next 10 days, and we can't wait to see them with our own two eyes. As wonderful as photography is, it can't quite seem to capture the beauty of "being there".

Eastern Odyssey

Getting Ready to Explore a Little Bit of China

overcast 8 °C

On May 9th, Dan and I are flying for 13.25 hours from Toronto to Beijing on AC031. For this adventure, we're going as part of a tour. Since we can't speak the language, it seems like the smart thing to do. There's less preparation than there was for our last adventure in Walking the Camino across Spain, but it does require a little more thought than heading for a week at an all-inclusive resort in the sun. Our itinerary calls for time at six Unesco Heritage sites, a couple of river cruises and some night time cultural programs. We're looking forward to some nice warm temperatures in the mid to high 20s. I've printed out our travel list so packing starts today.
